About the ingredient
Rheum palmatum root contains anthraquinone compounds and tannins. The medicinal root is distinct from the stalks of culinary rhubarb.
When it is used
Rhubarb root preparations are used for short courses during occasional constipation. Dosage depends on their active-constituent content.
Ingredients
Rheum palmatum root extract; gelatin in the capsule form.
Use and precautions
Do not use with diarrhoea, unexplained abdominal pain, bowel obstruction or inflammatory bowel disease.
Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or in children. Prolonged use can cause water and electrolyte loss; do not use for longer than a week without medical assessment.
Storage
Keep tightly closed in a dry place, protected from sunlight and out of reach of children.
